beenie man

featuring: yum yum

moses davies alias beenie man is the most popular living reggae star of jamaica. at the tender age of five, moses would compete in sound clashes with some of the biggest names. the caribbean community of london offers a kick start to the careers of many reggae and dancehall musicians from jamaica. reggae legends such as bob marley and jimmy cliff lived in london before they became superstars. beenie man sees himself as a dancehall musician. dancehall is about a feel good vibe. the message is normally hidden. whereas with reggae there is always a message or ideology. beenie man's favourite takeaway in london is yum yum which serves original caribbean specialities. his 2006 album 'undisputed' went to number 1 in the us reggae charts and his 2009  release 'the legend returns' set him on a north american tour.
