at café charbon, chillout fans can take a trip to the 19th century. the café is famous in paris for its old-time charm and hasn’t been renovated much since it was built in 1895. the very high ceilings are covered in mirrors and decorated with original turn of the century art. the bar is kitted out with ornamental bottles and old enamel advertising signs. music is the only thing which has moved with the times. they play french hip-hop and laid-back electro tunes. café charbon serves food all day and is highly recommended for its homemade desserts. in the evenings, they serve typical french fare, including raw tartar. café charbon is open daily from 11.00-02.00.
