cheerleaders

everybody is familiar with the screaming girls in super short minis at american basketball games. at fordham university in the bronx, near the famous zoo, the uni-cheerleader team trains three times a week. the fordham crew is made up of twelve girls and two boys. their task is to fire up the crowd during games. to be fit enough to support their team every week, they have to work extremely hard. training consists of choreographies, slogans and acrobatic stunts. to become a cheerleader a two-day special program has to be completed. the jury looks for dance skills,  strong voice and an expressive personality. only the committed are able to become cheerleaders. you can watch the fordham team every second saturday at rose hill hall, where you get the tickets as well.
