greyhound racing

walthamstow was england’s largest greyhound racing course. there were fifteen races an evening. the dogs ran up to 50 km/h on the 450 metre course chasing behind a speeding toy bunny. greyhounds are trained from an early age for races. the betting office even took really low bets on the swift dogs. betting professionals gambled big money at special booths. walthamstow stadium had a restaurant and three bars with a good view over the racecourse and despite its popularity it closed in early 2008. wimbledon greyhound stadium remains as a great place in london to enjoy the dog racing.
